Hello my name is Denise Grant and I am from Easley, South Carolina. I was writing to tell about my story of surviving the flesh eating bacteria. It hit me in November 2001. I really don’t know a lot about what happened to me because they kept me in a semi-coma for weeks. I just remember waking up a few days before Christmas that year. Everyone had told me that I only survived by the grace of God. All the doctors said I should have died a million times but I made it. To this day I still have a few problems but it is something I will have to live with the rest of my life. I had to learn how to do everything all over again. I was really an infant starting over. It has been a hard road and I will travel it everyday. I just felt like I needed to share this with people because no one knew about the disease when I first got it.
