Becky Pawlak

December 26, 1954 - October 14, 2005

My sister Becky lost her life to NF. She was being treated for prevention of melanoma after surgery and developed cellulitis. She was a diabetic also. They had her on interferon (intron A) and she was told she would feel flu like and ill. She mistook some of her symptoms and the severity of them as the cellulitis developed. She went into the hospital for surgery and they had to wait a day because of her blood sugar. It grew and in the end NF went through her before they could help her any further. She never woke up and died a few days later Oct. 14, 2005.
